Peri-areolar (donut)
A circular incision around the areola allows the areola to be resized and repositioned while remaining attached to its original tissue, with excess skin and volume removed around it.
Middle ground
Best suited to
Moderate chest size with mild to moderate excess skin — a step between keyhole and double incision.
Trade-off
Some flattening/puckering around the areola is possible as the circular scar settles.
- ✓Nipple sensation is more often preserved than with grafting
- ✓Scar hidden at the areola border
- ✓Areola size and position can be corrected at the same time
